Alfred Gaul short biography
A noted British composer, Alfred Gaul was appointed organist at Norwich Cathedral and later held the same position at St. Augustine’s in Edgbaston. Gaul was a distinguished teacher in Birmingham’s Midland Institute and the King Edward High School for Girls. Gaul wrote many compositions for church and a number cantatas including The Holy City, his widely performed work.
